Wanted: carers with recent experience of hospital discharge
Healthwatch Cornwall are currently working with NHS England and Improvement to understand more about carers' experiences when the person they care for is discharged from hospital.
This research project aims to influence future policy and practice by finding out what is important to carers and those they care for when leaving hospital.
Whether you identify as a carer, or are caring for a family member or friend in need of support, we are specifically looking to speak with you if all of the following apply:
- you are an unpaid carer (whether in receipt of carers allowance or not)
- the person you cared for was discharged from hospital in the last six months
- the person you cared for required support at home from any health services, social care services or voluntary sector services following discharge from hospital
By understanding what is important from people with direct experience, we aim to help make improvements to how carers are identified, recognised and supported in the future.
You would need to be available to take part in a conversation with a Healthwatch Cornwall representative between 15th November and the 14th January.
If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Healthwatch Cornwall to speak with one of our colleagues by emailing admin@healthwatchcornwall.co.uk or calling T: 01872 273501.
